Your next step

Make the connection.

Install the app, link your device, then check your tools work.

  1. Install

Unzip Kin, move it to Applications and open it. Updating? Replace your existing copy to keep your pairing.

  2. Link your Mac

Choose Pair in Kin, sign in in your browser and compare the short code. Approve only your own device.

  3. Choose your tools

Import your local MCP servers from Kin’s menu. Use Permissions in Kin’s Settings for the Mac access your tools need.

  4. Check it works

Under Devices in Connections, check your Mac is online and allow its servers. Ask your AI app for a harmless read to verify the connection.

Setup details and other devices

Windows and Linux. Install the Kin bridge with npm, then follow the steps for your system under Pair a computer, in Connections › Devices.

Mac permissions. Set up Mac access in Kin’s Settings › Permissions. macOS may ask for Screen Recording or Accessibility. Allow only local programs you trust. Kin’s approval rules cover requests through Kin; an approved program can perform additional work within the access macOS allows it. Quit and reopen Kin when asked.

iPhone and Apple Watch. If you have a private beta build, create your account here first, then return to Kin on your phone and choose Sign in and link this phone. Check the fingerprint, then use the practice request to verify an approval. Notifications need their own permission. Android is not publicly released.

Linking is separate from approval. An account does not link a device or approve a request. A download or an approved pairing alone does not verify that read. Pairing codes expire; if one expires, start again in the app.
