Who handles data for Kin

We use service providers to run Kin, in categories such as hosting and infrastructure, network and security, content delivery and storage, databases, AI processing (including AI model providers), payments, email, notifications, analytics, support and partner referrals. They process data on our behalf to provide their services to us, under terms that limit their use of it. We may add or replace them. This page lists the ones we use now and what each one does, along with the services you choose to use with Kin.

Service providers that run parts of Kin for us:

  • Google Cloud, in the United States, for hosting, our database, encryption keys and request logs.
  • Cloudflare, for DNS, network security and content delivery. It secures, carries and filters all traffic to our website and service, including from your AI apps, and serves app downloads. It also ranks actions for a search with an AI model, so it receives the search text from your AI app and the names and descriptions of your connections' actions.
  • Stripe, for payments.
  • Resend, for account email, such as sign-in codes, password reset links, security notices and the reminder before a free trial ends.
  • Apple, to deliver notifications to Kin for iPhone and Apple Watch, only if you link a phone. A notification says what needs your attention, such as an approval waiting, and never carries an action's arguments or results.
  • Google Workspace, for our own email, when you write to us.
  • PostHog, in the United States, for product analytics.
  • Intercom, for support chat when you open it. If you are signed in, Intercom also receives your email address and account id, so we know who is writing.
  • Endorsely, to credit the partner who referred you, only if you arrived through a partner's link.

Services you choose, which handle data under their own terms:

  • The AI apps you connect, which receive the results of the actions they run.
  • The services you connect, which receive the requests your AI apps make to them.
  • Google and GitHub, if you sign in with one of them. We receive your email address, your name and the id of your account there.
  • Google, for its sign-in window and file picker when you choose Add files on a Google Drive (files you pick) connection.

Changes to this list

When we add, replace or remove a service provider, we update this list, and the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Every earlier version stays available on this page's list of versions. Where a contract with a business customer requires notice of changes, we give it as that contract says. The privacy policy describes how we use service providers.
